A message from the author...
For the readers who do not know what this project is, the biography project at Holderness is a mandatory project done by the ninth grade class every year. The project is supposed to help us learn more about a family member who matters to us. In past years the project has just been a paper write up, but this year, we are each creating an interactive private website that we can share with our teachers and relatives.
My first step in the project was calling my grandmother to interview her. I took notes and recorded the conversation for future reference. Thank you Lollie for all of the time you spent talking to me on the phone. I wouldn't have been able to do this project without your help. Next I made a Weebly.com account and chose a template for the website. Creating the website was actually quite easy. Part of this project is that we have to make ‘nuggets’. A nugget is a section of the project. We each had to make ten; six that involved writing, and four that did not. This message that you are reading now is one of my nuggets. In total we had 18 nugget options. After I chose my nuggets, I began writing
This project has allowed me to get to know my grandmother in ways that I had not before. I did not know that my grandmother taught dyslexic children before doing this project. Learning about a relative who has lived a full life can teach you a lot about yourself.
